weekly mash up

G'day bloggers, How was your first week back at school? My first week back at school was pretty fun overall.

In numeracy this week we have been looking at angles. We also Had to find places that were certain distances apart on the south island the first distance was 25 to 40 km, the second one was 150 to 200km the third one was 400 to 450 km apart.

For the past few weeks in literacy, we have been reading the book hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.one of our tasks this week was to do our third summary of the book. the chapters we summarised were chapter 11-14.

Today we started working on koru art.

Distance learning week 5

G'day bloggers I am back with another blog post.

Today I will be talking about the 90-second art I did for my Friday task. We got to chose out of 4 different Friday tasks to do today. We could choose from making a comic strip, designing a cake, animals in suburbia and 90-second art which I chose to do.

To do the 90-second art we used this website called Colour Push which has a 90-second timer and you create a piece of art in that time. After doing that you had to pick a creative way to share it and I did a pic collage. Here it is.

distance learning week 3

G' day bloggers
This week I have been doing lots of tasks for literacy and numeracy but today I am going to talk about the Friday tasks.

For today's tasks, we had three choices. the first choice was to draw a made-up animal. The second choice was to find out why there are no purple flags and then create a flag. The task I chose to do was make a food truck.

For the food truck task, we had to decide what food we would sell if we had to open a food truck. after that, we had to draw the design of our food truck, come up with a name for our food truck, write a small menu, design a logo and design an apron.

Here is a photo of my design.

Distance Learning Day 5

G'day bloggers

Today's home learning has involved more numeracy tasks with circles.

For literacy we had to create a "Mad Scientist" and write some ideas of his feelings and thoughts of how he sees the world.

We also had to work on creating a sundial this was quite tricky and is still a work in progress as I am measuring the sun shadow each hour to work out the times

Here is the drawing of my scientist.

that is all from me

Distance Learning Day 4

G'day bloggers ...

Today I have completed another scratch with dialogue for literacy.

For numeracy, we focused on the different parts of circles. I had to create a circle artwork and also an animation showing the parts of circles. here is the link to my animation and a photo of my circle artwork.

Distance learning day 3

G'day Bloggers,

Today I have completed my numeracy and literacy tasks. I will be talking about my numeracy tasks.

For numeracy today we had to complete four measurement and estimation tasks. The first task was to make a paper plane and estimate how far it had flown and then measure to see the actual distance.

The second task was to see how high you could jump from a standstill then estimate how high  I jumped before measuring to find out the actual measurement.

Task three was to see how far I could jump from a standing position then estimate how far I thought I jumped before measuring to get the actual distance.

Task four was to see how high I could jump while trying to reach as high as I can before following the same steps as above estimating how I high I got and get then finally the actual measurement.

Here are some photos of me completing the tasks...

Have a great weekend!
Jack

distance learning day 2

G'day bloggers, I am back with another blog post.

Today I have completed my numeracy and literacy tasks.

For literacy today we had to think of our favorite book, tv show, fairy tale, or movie and answer some questions regarding the theme or topic of the story and also create a poster.

The book I chose was Billionaire Boy by David Walliams. The idea of this book follows Joe Spud who is the richest kid in England and has everything he could ever want except a real friend.

Joe goes to a really expensive private school where people know how rich he is and only wants to be friends with him for his money. He decides to leave and go to a public school where he doesn’t tell anyone he is rich so he can try to make a true friend.

This book tries to remind us that money doesn’t always make you happy and friendship is more important than money.

My favorite part of numeracy today was when I went outside and measured the perimeter of my front yard.here is the picture I drew to show my working

that is me done until tomorrow
